Four Knights initiative a “masterstroke”, says WICB CEO

ST JOHN’S, Antigua, CMC – West Indies Cricket Board chief executive, Michael Muirhead as described the newly launched Four Knights Academy as a “masterstroke”, and says it has the potential to play a critical role in national development here.

The cricket academy, established in honour of Antigua and West Indies legends Sir Vivian Richards, Sir Curtly Ambrose, Sir Andy Roberts and Sir Richie Richardson, was formally unveiled on Wednesday at the Jumby Bay Resort.

World Bank says growth in remittances to Caribbean will slow down in 2015

WASHINGTON D.C., United States, Friday April 17, 2015, CMC – The World Bank says remittances growth in the Caribbean is expected to slow in 2015.

The Washington-based international financial institution said in its latest issue of its Migration and Development Brief that growth in global remittances, including those to developing countries, such as the Caribbean, will slow sharply this year due to weak economic growth in Europe, deterioration of the Russian economy and the depreciation of the Euro and Ruble.

Students engaging in the CSME through field promotion

A group of Dominican students is on a study tour to St. Lucia this week as part of CARICOM’s programme to engage students in understanding the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME).

Nineteen (19) students from the Dominica State College travelled to St. Lucia to participate in a series of engagements which have been arranged with ministries/departments responsible for labour, commerce and immigration as well as the local stock exchange, the central bank, a regional service company and a large financial institution.

The Saint Lucia National Trust (SLNT) joins the rest of the world in the celebration of Earth Day.

Earth day is an annual event on which activities are held worldwide to demonstrate support for environmental protection.
