Gender Mainstreaming Integral to Region’s Future Foreign Trade Policies

Regional trade policy makers are being urged to ensure that gender equality and gender mainstreaming is integral in their future foreign trade policies and national development strategies.

This advice from representatives of the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) and the International Trade Centre (ITC) during Day One of a four-day seminar, examining Gender Mainstreaming in Caribbean Trade Policies and Programmes. The CDB and ITC are co-hosting the seminar from June 16 – 19 at the CDB Headquarters in Barbados.

PM Gaston Browne Meets with CARICOM Secretary-General

JOHN’S, Antigua & Barbuda – 18th June, 2014……..Secretary-General of the CARICOM Community Ambassador Irwin LaRocque flew into Antigua today for a brief meeting with Prime Minister the Honourable Gaston Browne. The Secretary-General was accompanied by Mr. Neville Bissember of the CARICOM Secretariat.

Secretary-General LaRocque congratulated the Prime Minister on his resounding electoral victory and pledged to work closely with him during Mr. Browne’s term in office, and especially during his term as chairman of CARICOM.

Outgoing OAS Director lauded for service to St. Kitts and Nevis

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, JUNE 16TH 2014 (CUOPM) – The Government of St. Kitts and Nevis is hailing the contribution to the twin-island Federation by outgoing Director of the Organisation of American States (OAS), Mr. Starret Greene.

CARIBBEAN-AGRICULTURE-Regional countries participating in IICA project

AN JOSE, Costa Rica, Jun 16, - CMC – The Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) says it is supporting institutions involved in pesticides registration in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) try to generate data that make it possible for them to promote maximum residue levels (MRL) for small scale crops in the region.

It said the project will allow the institutions to adjust to the consumption patterns of the inhabitants of each country.

Sir Ian Botham praises vision of St. Kitts-Nevis Government
