They noted that the Region has been actively involved in the processes which will be brought to a climax in major inter-related high level International Meetings in the latter half of 2015.
Panama Keen To Cooperate with Barbados In Education
Panama is seeking to strengthen cooperation with Barbados by creating linkages in the area of education.
This was expressed today as Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Ronald Jones, and officials of his Ministry met with Panama’s Minister of Education, Marcela Paredes de Vásquez, and her delegation, on the margins of the 36th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of CARICOM.
Barbados And Panama Sign MOU
Barbados and the Republic of Panama now have a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Bilateral Relations.
The documents were signed and exchanged today during the 36th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community. The meeting, which ends today, is being held the Hilton Barbados Resort, Needhams Point, St. Michael.

CARICOM Chairman receives commemorative bat
Commonwealth Secretary General, Kamalesh Sharma on Friday presented Prime Minister Freundel Stuart with a commemorative cricket bat of the historic 1950 West Indies tour of England.
The presentation of the bat, which bears the signatures of the players, was made in the presence of other CARICOM leaders, as they met with the Commonwealth Secretary General at a special breakfast meeting before the start of Friday’s plenary session, as the 36th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) entered its first day at the Hilton Barbados.

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon says the HIV and AIDS epidemic is made worse by punitive laws and stigma which drive vulnerability to infection and block access to life-saving treatment.
In a speech he delivered at the launch of UNAIDS and Lancet Commission Report: “Defeating AIDS -Advancing Global Health’’, in Bridgetown, Barbados on Friday, Ban said homophobia threatened both human rights and public health.
”We cannot tolerate discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation nor on the basis of gender identity.
