The Document and Workflow Management System

The Document and Workflow Management System (DWMS) is a crucial component of the larger initiative to make the rights under the CSM more accessible and to ensure a higher level of efficiency and effectiveness in the processing of these rights. The system will contribute to the achievement of the full integration of the national markets of Member States of the Community into a single, unified and open market area.

Jamaica highly vulnerable to climate change

TECHNICAL officer in the government's Climate Change Division, Dr Orville Grey, says that Jamaica and other small island developing states are highly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change.

"If we look at Jamaica and where we're located, hurricanes make us extremely vulnerable, and because of that, adaptation is an important aspect of our negotiations in dealing with climate change," Grey told the Jamaica Observer at its weekly Monday Exchange with editors and reporters.

Time to open the doors for domestic workers, artisans

THE Barbados-based CARICOM Development Fund (CDF) has approved an additional EC$2,025,000/US$750,000 loan for the new Argyle International Airport (AIA) in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

The funding will be used to purchase equipment to establish a 218 kVa solar energy farm that will reduce electricity costs at the multi-million dollar facility.

Andros mangrove restoration project shortlisted to win exclusive European grant

ANDROS, The Bahamas – In 2014 ten million people were engaged to vote for fifteen projects from around the world supporting conservation projects to win one of the three coveted European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) grants. This year the only project short listed from the Caribbean region is a coastal/mangrove restoration project in Andros, Bahamas. This project was submitted by the Andros Conservancy and Trust (Ancat).

IDB calls for gender equality in the Caribbean

WASHINGTON, CMC – President of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Luis Alberto Moreno, in his message to mark International Women’s Day, has called for gender equality in the Caribbean and Latin America.

“On this International Women's Day, we reaffirm our commitment to the advancement of women and the achievement of more prosperous and egalitarian societies,” said Moreno in a statement.

He said the advancement of women carries with it a promise of progress for all of society.
