CARICOM Change Team pleased with Guyana Consultations

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana)     The Change Facilitation Team based at the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat has expressed satisfaction at the response by participants at the Guyana national consultations on a Five-year Strategic Plan for the Community. The Strategic Plan is a critical part of the Reform process within CARICOM, which has been initiated by the Conference of Heads of Government.

I wish to extend a very warm welcome to all participants to the Third High-Level Forum on Donor Coordination. The last High-Level Forum was in July 2011 and much has transpired since. The gap between these Meetings has been too long but I am sure that over the next day and a half we will make up for the time lost.

 

Increased trade in the Region a consequence of integration

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana)     Intra-regional trade in the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) has been positive with significant growth in the early period of the integration movement and with the share of intra-regional to total trade increasing, on average, in the face of exogenous factors.
