Today I am proud to stand with you to end the devastating problem of violence against women. The Caribbean has among the highest rates of sexual assault in the world.

I am delighted to see so many young people here and linked in via video.  I look forward to hearing from you. 

Later today, I will sit down with CARICOM leaders.  But in many ways, it is fitting that I meet with you first.

I know you may be worried about the economy, about the job market, about the future. 

I also know you are full of energy, ideas and solutions.

The 36th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) was held at Bridgetown, Barbados, 2-4 July 2015. The Prime Minister of Barbados, the Right Honourable Freundel Stuart, Q.C; MP, chaired the proceedings. Other Members of the Conference in attendance were: the Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, the Honourable Gaston Browne; the Prime Minister of The Bahamas, the Rt. Honourable Perry Christie; the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, the Honourable Roosevelt Skerrit; the Prime Minister of Grenada, Dr. the Rt.

Stronger CARICOM Relations a top priority for Panama

President of Panama H.E. Juan Carlos Varela met with CARICOM Heads of Government during Saturday’s session of their 36th Regular Meeting at the Hilton Hotel, Barbados, and made a strong case for closer cooperation.

The UNAIDS-Lancet Report is indeed the high level analysis based on empirical evidence.  It makes us deeply aware that this disease HIV and AIDS is far from over. At the same time it provides the options from grasping opportunities to end this epidemic by 2030.
