Co-hosting CARICOM Summit symbolises Guyana’s commitment to integration – Guyana Foreign Minister

Guyana’s co-hosting of the upcoming Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of CARICOM symbolises a continued commitment to its involvement in deliberations that support the processes and institutions of integration.

This is the view of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Guyana, the Hon. Carl Greenidge who sat down for an interview with the CARICOM Secretariat ahead of the 37th Heads of Government Meeting 4-6 July in Georgetown, Guyana.

SG welcomes Nicaragua to ‘CARICOM family’

Secretary-General of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Ambassador Irwin LaRocque has emphasised that small states working together could make a difference.

Speaking at a ceremony accepting the credentials of His Excellency Valdrack L. Jaentschke as Nicaragua’s Ambassador to CARICOM, Ambassador LaRocque stressed that working together in regional, hemispheric and international fora could ensure that the impediments to the development of small states would be addressed.

Building the CARICOM Communications Network

As efforts continue to develop a network of CARICOM Communications professionals, a sub-group mainly from Caribbean Community Institutions in Barrbados and the CARICOM Secretariat recommitted to closer collaboration during a recent lunch-meeting at CDB Headquarters, Barbados.

The get-together was a spin-off from an earlier on-line meeting of professionals across the Community, in which the Communications operatives agreed, among other things, that:

CARICOM 10K Meet gets underway: Differently able to be a part

The Spirit of CARICOM will come alive this Sunday, 3 July 2016, as the CARICOM 10K Meet gets underway at 6 a.m. Athletes from several CARICOM States will criss-cross the streets of Greater Georgetown to observe this annual CARICOM tradition, which takes place ahead of the Regular Meeting of the CARICOM Conference of Heads of Government, usually in the host Member State. The 37th Meeting of the Conference takes place on 4-6 July 2016.
