CARICOM READY TO TAKE ON CONNECT THE AMERICAS SUMMIT

COMMUNIQUÉ ISSUED AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE THIRTY-THIRD REGULAR MEETING OF THE CONFERENCE OF HEADS OF GOVERNMENT OF THE CARIBBEAN COMMUNITY, 30 JUNE - 4 JULY 2011, Saint Lucia

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) Former Trinidad and Tobago cabinet minister and Ambassador to CARICOM, Mr. Kamaluddin Mohammed is the recipient of the Caribbean Region’s highest award - the Order of the Caribbean Community (OCC).

The Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community, at its 33rd Regular Meeting in Saint Lucia, conferred this honour on Mr. Mohammed for the decisive role he played in what can be considered the “Replanting of the Caribbean Vineyard.”

TT NATIONAL RECEIVES CARICOM HIGHEST HONOUR

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) I feel privileged to join my Colleague Heads of State and Government here in St Lucia at this Thirty Third Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community and I am pleased to reaffirm Guyana’s commitment to the integration process. I pledge my Government’s full support to the continued efforts of regional Governments and the CARICOM Secretariat to work towards the attainment of a more integrated, more resilient and more prosperous Caribbean.
