Developing a Sustainable Statistics Infrastructure

Programme Overview

The Regional Statistics Programme (RSP) collects, compiles, and maintains official statistical data from CARICOM Member States and Associate Members across a wide range of statistical domains, including merchandise trade, population, national accounts, balance of payments, , international trade in services and the SDG Indicators. These datasets are managed within the RSP’s electronic databases at the CARICOM Secretariat and support the production of intraregional statistics that inform regional analysis, policy development and decision-making.

National Data is submitted to the Secretariat by the Member States, generally through their National Statistical Office or Central Bank, depending on the nature of the data. In instances where Member States are unable to provide data, reliable third-party sources may be employed.

The data collected serve multiple purposes, including the maintenance of comprehensive databases, the production of statistical reports, and the provision of targeted information for analytical and policy-oriented applications.
