A report of the work of the Community for the period January to December 2017, in accordance with Article 23 paragraph 3 of the Revised Treaty establishing the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) including the CARICOM Single Market and Economy.

  1. Hurricane Devastation: Category five Hurricanes Irma and Maria caused unprecedented multi-country devastation within two weeks.
  2. Human Potential: The Human Resource Development (HRD) 2030 Strategy was endorsed to help regional citizens reach their full potential.
  3. COP 23: The Region focused global attention on SIDS' vulnerabilities and the need for climate resilience support at the meeting in Germany.
  4. Biodiversity: The first report on the state of the Region’s biodiversity was prepared, reviewing progress toward global targets.
  5. Financials: The approved budget funded by Member States was EC$54,873,726
