PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC- Prime Minister Kamla Persad Bissessar is to pay an official visit to Canada later this month, according to a statement issued by the Office of the Prime Minister.
It said the April 23-26 visit is in response to an invitation from the Prime Minister Stephen Harper and follows the State visit of Canada’s Governor General David Johnston and his wife to Trinidad and Tobago during the 50thanniversary of independence 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC - Identical twin sisters, Louise Pierre and Louisa Danzel, from the fishing village of Blanchisseuse celebrated their 100th birthday on Wednesday. The twins also celebrated the birthday of their neighbour Richard Morgan, who will turn 101 on May 25.
All three were honoured by Member of Parliament for Arima, Rodger Samuel, and Minister of State in the Ministry of the People and Social Development and Department of Ageing, Vernella Toppin, in a ceremony which was attended by various Ministry officials, friends and family of the centenarians.

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, Advocate - The Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ) will give its ruling in the matter of Shanique Myrie against the Government of Barbados at a later date, which is yet to be announced.
The matter came to a close yesterday at the CCJ’s Headquarters in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad, with President of the CCJ Dennis Byron adjourning the matter so the seven-judge panel can deliberate on the evidence provided in the case.
