REPORT OF THE CARICOM ELECTION OBSERVATION MISSION TO SAINT VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES

21 July 2026

The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) mounted a ten-member CARICOM Election Observation Mission (CEOM) to observe the General Elections in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, held on 27 November 2025, following an invitation from the Government.

The Mission reflected the commitment of CARICOM Heads of Government to support Member States, upon request, through independent, impartial and honest assessments of the preparations for, and conduct of, General Elections.

The CEOM, led by Chief of Mission Mr. Sase Gunraj, comprised senior electoral and other officials from Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago, supported by three members of the CARICOM Secretariat who provided administrative and logistical support.

During the observation, the team visited more than 85 percent of polling stations across mainland Saint Vincent, covering the opening of polls, voting throughout the day, the close of polls, and the counting process. While there were some operational and staffing challenges, overall, the General Elections in St. Vincent and the Grenadines were orderly, peaceful, and conducted in an atmosphere of robust civic engagement and camaraderie among the electorate.

CARICOM expressed appreciation to political party leaders, civil society groups, stakeholders, the media, and the people of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines for their cooperation and support during the Mission.
