Caribbean Sustainable Tourism Policy Framework

23 June 2008

Caribbean Sustainable Tourism Policy Framework is a regional policy guide developed by the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) under the Caribbean Regional Sustainable Tourism Development Programme (CRSTDP). The framework provides strategic guidance for the sustainable development of tourism across the Caribbean, promoting a balance between economic growth, environmental stewardship, cultural preservation, and social inclusion. It outlines a shared vision for a resilient, high-quality, and regionally integrated tourism sector and establishes six key policy areas: tourism management capacity, tourism marketing, transportation, environment, economic linkages, and health, safety, and security. Designed as a reference tool for governments, tourism authorities, policymakers, and industry stakeholders, the framework supports the development, review, and implementation of national tourism policies and strategies aligned with sustainable development principles.
