Even as residents in the Leeward Islands brace form the potentially catastrophic Hurricane Irma, they are also being urged to keep an eye on another weather system – Tropical Storm Jose.

At midday Tuesday, Jose was located near latitude 12.3 North, longitude 39.1 West, and moving towards the west-northwest at 13 miles (20 km) per hour.  The Maximum sustained winds are near 40 miles (65 km) per hour and Jose should become a hurricane by Friday.

No Warnings or Watches have been issued but residents of the Leewards have been urged to monitor Jose’s progress.
